PROOFREADING OR COPYEDITING?
Proofreading consists of checking for errors in punctuation, spelling, grammar, verb tenses, etc., in work that is relatively error-free.
Copyediting (or editing) involves more substantial changes to the composition in order to make the writing understandable easily and quickly. Copyediting is more akin to rewriting. In addition to checking for errors in punctuation, spelling, grammar, verb tenses, etc., we will break up run-on sentences, change passive verb forms to active verb forms, and even suggest words that may be more suitable than those that you have used.
If English is not your first language, it is almost certain that you will require the copyediting service. Also, if your occupation does not involve extensive writing, you will probably require the copyediting service. We no longer offer simple proofreading.
